A visualization of Michael Brumit's original composition "Hearts Go Alone" as it appeared in our LIFELINES exhibit. The midi was reconstructed using an open source tool known as Reaper and normalized using a glockenspiel synthesizer filter. The visualization was recorded with a handheld video camera which further enhanced the musicality of the synthesized tones.
Once the midi was reconstructed, it was visualized using Stephen Malinowski's "Music Animation Machine." Two variants were initially generated for the exhibit: RAIN and WIND.
The third visualization will be synchronized to Brumit's original orchestration and presented in our ROAD TRIPS exhibition this fall.
